MM Racing is in the process of developing "MM Racing Kart Challenge" where you race for more than just points.  Compete in four (4) out of five (5) Series Day races to earn points toward the Series Championship as well as each race you have a chance to win trophies, prizes, gift certificates and more.

Read on to see how it all works?

  • Register: $10 Track Pit Pass (paid to the hosting track, so fees may vary), $20 Track Race Fee (paid to the hosting track, so fees may vary), $20 MM Racing Kart Challenge Fee (used for trophies, prize, etc.  e.g. Typical race will cost $50.
  • Divisions: One (1) division:
    • Box Stock (Senior Light)
      • Driver Requirement: Age 15 and older
      • Brakes: Front brakes are optional. (20 lbs penalty)
      • Engine: OHV Clone (WKA / AKRA rules)
      • Fuel: Pump fuel or normal pump race fuel.  No additives or performance enhancers of any kind
      • Tires: 5" tires only, but otherwise open brand, compound and size
      • Weight: 350 lbs. minimum weight
  • Heat Races - Two (2): twenty (20) laps each (may vary depending on host track)
  • Feature Race: One (1): twenty five (25) laps (may vary depending on host track)
  • Starting Assignment:
    • Heat Race 1 - Random draw for Race starting position assignment
    • Heat Race 2 - Reverse starting position of Heat Race 1
    • Feature Race - Cumulative Heat Race finishes determine starting position
  • Points Distribution - Feature Race Finish:
    • 1st place - 200 points
    • 2nd place - 175 points
    • 3rd place - 155 points

    • NOTE: All drivers who pay for the race, even if they do not race, are eligible for points.  Did Not Finish (DNF) drivers will be awarded points in order of which driver finished farther in the Feature Race.  Did Not Start (DNS) drivers will be awarded points for last place (e.g. ten karts in race, two DNS will get 90 points/each; both are considered 9th place).
  • Points Distribution - Bonus for Number of Karts
    • Bonus Points:  are awarded to each driver in the amount of the number of drivers who paid for the race 
    • NOTE: All drivers who pay for the race, even if they do not race, are eligible for bonus points
  • Prizes: Each Feature Race will have a 1st place prize and a prize that will be awarded to a random driver (all drivers who pay for the race, even if they do not race, are eligible for the random prize)
  • Kart Technical/Saftey Specification: Technical and safety specifications are based on WKA/AKRA rules
  • Driver Saftey Specification: Minimal requirements are as follows, but may vary per track:
    • Helmet: SNELL 2005, 2010 or 2015 certified
    • Neck Support: Foam support minimally, Leatt or Team Valhalls 360 are better choices
    • Jacket/Suit: Skid resistant jacket with jeans or karting suit - no shorts; legs must be covered/protected
    • Shoes: Karting shoes or closed toe footwear - no sandles; feet must be covered/protected
    • Hands: Karting, motorcycle, mechanic gloves - no fingerless gloves; hands must be covered/protected
    • Chest/Rib Protectors: Not required at this time, but we strongly recommend one
  • Feature Race Day Awards Example: 10 drivers paying for the race.  (1st place - 210 points, 2nd place 185 points, ..., DNS - 90 points.)
  • Race Series Champions: Race series champions (1st, 2nd and 3rd in points standings) will be awarded special prizes - TBD
  • Driver's Banquet: TBD
  • Race Tracks: Jackson Speedway, Palmyra Speedway and East Lansing Kart Track
