Infra-red Beacon

Used in conjunction with a Lap Time beacon, split time beacons define track segments. One benefit of a split/segment system is to help drivers better analyze vehicle set-up and make competitive adjustments by isolating distinct sections of a race track. For example, a motocross team can determine how its rider is doing specifically in the whoop section compared to other riders, or a road course racer can isolate a turn to see which line brings the best time through that section.

Infra-red (optical) beam cuts across the track for precise, automatic timing. Threaded insert on bottom for attachment to a tripod (not included). Battery powered (AA batteries), also includes leads for connection to external power.
